torso flavor

The Tourning Torso is the new 54 floor skyscraper in Malmo, Sweden that overlooks everything, and I mean everything because you can see this building from just about any cormer of Malmo-Skane. Frankly, it looks like the monolith or the 'object' that was on the album cover for Led Zeppelin' s Presence. Now I hear that the same architect Santiago Calatrava is designing a similar building in Chicago but 3 time the height with even more twist to it.
Malmo is a city that has alot going for it such as the beautiful library and a wonderful restaurant in close proximity called "Atmosfar." I also enjoyed another fine restaurant called "Trappaner" located near the small square. And ofcourse, there is "Mando" the steak restaurant with the cool interior.

Malmo-Skane Louis Vuitton Acts 6 & 7

This past month has been quite hectic with two overseas assignments back to back in different parts of the world. I was in Malmo Sweden to do some editorial photography for a japanese men's life style magazine, and part of it was on the America's Cup races taking place there. Although I'm not too familiar with this kind of race, I certainly got a feel that this was the formula one races at sea. Very impressive to watch the boats lifted out of the ocean by large cranes and hosed down at the end of each day. The professional maritime photographers were fully equiped with raincoats and waterproof pelican cases to protect their equipment. Since I never photographed water sports in my life, and I had nothing to protect me from the water that gushed in on the smaller and speedier photo boats, I rode the comfortable and more stable press boat. On the next outing I rode on the Louis Vuitton VIP boat which was even better with all that champagne and gourmet food.
