extraordinary Macau

The Wynn Hotel & Casino

the Venecian Macau at night

My fifth visit to Macau, yet this town never ceases to amaze me. The mixture of Europe and China, the poor and the extremely wealthy, and the night life... I can't think of another city that provides such an extraordinary experience. The Venecian Casino in Macau is the second largest standing structure after the Boeing factory in Everett, WA., so you can imagine how far those gambling tables extend to. It's like the warehouse you see in an Indiana Jones movie. To the left of the Venecian in the picture above where you see the dark buildings, is where the construction is currently undergoing for the new "City of Dreams" casino compound. I would guess that Macau already has the largest gambling floor space in the world, but the construction keeps on going.

Off to Macau

Forecast for Macau is rain for the duration I'm there for. Darn it, why do I always get straight rain everytime I head for Macau? Well, it's nothing new to me by now although it's a drag when you have to shoot outside...
