student photo from 33 years ago

I woke up this morning and to my delight saw this picture on Facebook which I took 33 years ago when I was a photography student.  My FB friend is the little boy in the picture.
The school assignment was entitled "Life on a City Block," where you were restricted to photographing in one block of the town that was chosen from a draw of a hat.  I had  a very challenging block until I drew enough courage to walk in and ask if I can take pictures in a luggage repair shop.  The result was something I am still proud of to this day.  And for this boy (who is a grown up man succeeding the family business today) to put this image  up on father's day means a lot.
The best part is that I touched the lives of these people who have since become friends of a lifetime.

Father's Day

In a few months I'll be as old as my dad was when he passed away.  This photograph was taken around christmas time in New York, 1961.  Thank you Dad.

Are U camera ready?

This is one of those perfect moments that every photographer is looking for to happen.  And when it happens, is your camera ready to shoot within seconds?   My Sony RX100 is currently in the shop for repair so I had to use my Lumix LX3 which I'm a bit rusty since I haven't used it in over a year.  Fortunately, this japanese boy was totally absorbed with his iPad so I was able to get the shot.

The Executive Photographer

So I photographed close to a thousand executives over the years.  Today I got to use the executive boardroom as my office all day where I hung out between the shoots.  I am now an "executive photographer."
