sakura season

Feels like spring has finally arrived in Japan with the blooming cherry blossoms this week.  People here seem to be ever more joyous this year, probably because of the earthquake, tsunami, and radioactive fallout  which overshadowed the festive mood last year.  What seemed like a warm winter became a long cold winter, and the temperatures are still quite low.  I just realized that I have been in long hybernation mode as well with this blog.  With facebook, mixi, and other social network activities taking up all my time, it has become harder to keep up with everything.  I went to Korea last month on assignment but I only had the energy to upload my activities on facebook.  The photography business continues to get tighter every year with many photographers moving out to the wedding photography market which is going to saturate and cause cut throat practices there as well.
Digital camera technology has really affected the professional photography business for good and for bad, but in an age where anyone can take technically competent pictures, there seems to be more appreciation for good photography.
